David started his formal career in teaching in 1984 after playing competitive junior golf since the age of 9. David has been teaching at San Luis Rey Downs since December of 1994. David is 43 years old and is married with 3 children.
Besides teaching David is a Master Club Fitter and Club Repair Technician. Among his accomplishments are being selected USGTF Teacher of the Year in 2002, awarded Distinguished Club Fitter Award in 1998, Being nominated for Golf Magazines Top 100 Teacher List multiple times starting in 1998 and being selected for the World Golf Teachers Federation Top 25 instructors.
David is the Director of America's Favorite Golf School at SLRD and is enrolled in the PGA PGM program as well as a serving as an Examiner for the United States Golf Teachers Federation. The USGTF trains golf instructors and coaches throughout the world. David also writes golf equipment and teaching related articles for national golf publications.
Note from David: I believe in teaching to the students strengths and helping them identify what they need to do to enjoy the game more and improve their scoring. I don't subscribe to any certain method although I am a dedicated student of the swing and I can teach different methods if so desired. I use high tech video for instruction and I have all high tech tools for club fitting including launch monitors and fitting software
